Qingtian county in Lishui, Zhejiang province, has recently launched a cross-border procurement platform, addressing challenges faced by overseas Chinese in purchasing products, while helping local suppliers expand globally.

The platform simplifies previously fragmented and complex procurement processes for overseas Chinese.

Launched in July, the platform combines live-streaming, online marketplaces, and cross-border e-commerce. Built on Qingtian's overseas Chinese resources, it serves as a digital procurement hub.

The platform integrates dozens of quality suppliers from Qingtian and neighboring areas, providing comprehensive services including product inquiries, supplier matching, and cross-border logistics to connect Qingtian suppliers with international markets.

According to Zhu Liwei, chairperson of the Qingtian Imported Commodity City, all enterprises on the platform have been carefully selected, with most being local Qingtian companies offering diverse and high-quality products.

Recruitment efforts are ongoing and open to comprehensive service providers, manufacturers, trading companies, cross-border e-commerce firms, and live-streaming e-commerce businesses.

Home to 381,000 overseas Chinese in 146 countries and regions, Qingtian is building itself into an international trade hub. It is now attracting overseas resources back home, integrating the economy of Qingtian's global diaspora with the local economy, and strengthening its role as a global connector.
