Ningbo in Zhejiang province impressed at the opening parade of the 36th Shanghai Tourism Festival on Sept 13, displaying its unique blend of coastal charm, cultural heritage, and modern vibrancy.
As Zhejiang's sole representative city, Ningbo unveiled its specially designed float, featuring a giant camera at the front and a mobile stage that brought the city's stories to life. The float highlighted the historic book collection of Tianyi Pavilion, the sweeping tides of the city's modern port, the azure coastline of Xiangshan, and the sweet aromas of tangyuan, capturing Ningbo's identity as a lively mountain-sea-port city.
This year's Shanghai Tourism Festival extends across Shanghai with a 1.5-kilometer parade route, 25 floats, and 27 performing groups from 18 countries and regions, alongside top domestic theme parks. After the opening, the floats will visit 11 landmark sites across 10 districts in Shanghai, offering interactive performances for residents and visitors.
Ningbo's cultural and tourism delegation will also host themed promotional events on Sept 14, 15, and 29, further introducing the city's attractions to Shanghai visitors.
