The 10th Zhejiang-Western Australia Exchange Committee Meeting was held in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province, on Sept 23.

Representatives at the meeting agreed that Zhejiang and Western Australia enjoy complementary economies and cultural affinities, offering vast potential for cooperation.

Western Australia is the westernmost state of Australia. It is bounded by the Indian Ocean to the north and west, and the Southern Ocean to the south. Zhejiang is located in East China, with a strong industrial base, a dynamic private sector, and a reputation as one of the country's most open and innovative provinces.

Both sides pledged to explore new areas and models of engagement, promote enterprise visits, environmental promotion, and information sharing, and expand collaboration in artificial intelligence, energy and resources, agriculture, education, biomedicine, and the digital economy.

They also agreed to strengthen exchanges in culture, tourism, and youth development to deliver tangible benefits to people in both regions.

On the same day, the Invest and Trade Western Australia Hangzhou Office was officially inaugurated. Inter-departmental cooperation agreements were also signed for broader collaboration.
