Zhoushan Port in East China's Zhejiang province launched an automated review function for ship supply materials on Oct 17, marking the start of zero-wait, round-the-clock, and intelligent customs processing for maritime supplies.
At around 10 am, a Zhoushan Xinhai Supply staff member submitted an online application through the paperless review system. In less than 10 seconds, the system automatically completed the review. With the approved declaration form, a supply vessel soon departed for the Laotangshan phase five terminal to deliver daily and production supplies to a Panama-registered ship docked there.
Previously, applications for ship supply materials required manual customs review, which could take several minutes to up to half a day. The new automated process allows submissions at any time, including during holidays and outside working hours, significantly improving both supply efficiency and the service experience for international vessels.
According to Zhoushan Customs, automated reviews use preset rules and risk parameters to analyze submitted data. Applications that meet criteria are approved within seconds, while irregular cases are intercepted and redirected for manual inspection.
The system features a multi-dimensional intelligent review mechanism covering product classification, restricted item control, and risk identification. It can automatically process nearly 80 percent of ship supply declarations, enhancing clearance efficiency while ensuring precise supervision.
