Hangzhou Bay Wetland becomes thriving haven for migratory birds
Ningbo's Hangzhou Bay Wetland, one of the most important wintering grounds for waterbirds along China's eastern coastline, is gaining new vitality.
Situated on the Siberia-Australia migratory flyway, the wetland serves as a crucial stopover and wintering site for countless species, including several that are globally endangered.
In recent years, local authorities have intensified efforts to protect wetlands and restore ecosystems. These measures have significantly improved environmental quality, creating safer habitats for migratory birds. As a result, both the number and diversity of bird species stopping to rest or settle in the wetland have steadily increased.
