Zhejiang's service sector powers 61.8% of GDP growth

Zhejiang's service industry contributed 61.8 percent of the province's GDP growth in the first three quarters of 2025, according to official data.

Service output reached 4.07 trillion yuan ($573.36 billion), up 6 percent year-on-year and driving 3.5 percentage points of overall economic expansion.

Information transmission, software, and IT services grew 9.4 percent, matching the pace of the financial sector. Transport, warehousing, and postal services rose 6.3 percent, while wholesale and retail expanded 7.3 percent.

Cultural and tourism consumption also strengthened. From January to August, revenues of sports organizations increased 15.2 percent year-on-year, cultural and arts enterprises 13.5 percent, and travel-agency-related companies 9 percent.

The summer movie season posted solid gains as well, with cinema operators above the designated size reporting a 16.1 percent rise in revenue.
