As autumn gives way to winter, the courtyards of Xiaochendu village in Changxing county, Huzhou, Zhejiang province, are adorned with orange and yellow blossoms and green plants.

"Our yard used to be for drying vegetables and storing clutter, but now it's a beautiful landscape," said villager Zhang Fen.

The scenic beauty of courtyards is spreading across Huzhou's urban and rural areas, with the city now home to 200,000 beautiful courtyards.

Since the beginning of this year, the Huzhou Women's Federation has been actively exploring sustainable mechanisms to develop beautiful courtyards that transform temporary beauty into lasting elegance.

In April, they launched a year-long series of public courses, holding 37 sessions and reaching over 18,000 people, both online and offline, across 30 villages. More than 30 experts in plant care, courtyard design, and homestay development visited villages to provide accessible and practical advice.

This year, 6,012 courtyards in the city have been renovated and upgraded. These are not only beautiful, but are also generating income.

"My yard used to store farm tools, and now it's my livestreaming studio," said Lan Qingxia, a host of a homestay in Anji county.

The Huzhou Women's Federation has been promoting a development model combining Common Prosperity Workshops, Common Prosperity Markets, and Common Prosperity Courtyards, boosting regional economic growth and increasing local incomes.
