Quzhou celebrates New Year holiday with cultural festivities

As the New Year holiday approaches, Quzhou in Zhejiang province is set to usher in 2026 with a range of festivities blending intangible cultural heritage, nature exploration, and artistic experiences.
The 2025-2026 Zhejiang TV New Year's Eve Gala will be held at Quzhou Sports Center on Dec 31, featuring a star-studded lineup and stunning live performances to mark a vibrant start to the new year.
From Jan 1 to 3, the Shuitingmen historical and cultural block in Quzhou Ancient City Cultural Tourism Zone will host an intangible cultural heritage show, featuring performances such as Wuju Opera, one of Zhejiang’s oldest local opera forms.
From Dec 31 to Jan 3, Yanjiayu Islet, a part of the Quzhou Ancient City Cultural Tourism Zone, will host a variety of events for party-goers, families, and art enthusiasts.
Luming Island Yintai InPARK, a shopping center in the city, will present a New Year music festival from Dec 31 to Jan 3, with surprise guest appearances.
One highlight is the main event of the 2025 National New Year Climbing and Fitness Conference, which will take place on Jan 1 in Jiangshan, a county-level city in Quzhou.
