Zhejiang tourism heats up over New Year holiday

Zhejiang province saw a sharp surge in travel activity during the New Year holiday, according to multiple online travel platforms.
Several third-party platforms, including Trip, Fliggy, and Tongcheng Travel, showed that overall tourism orders in Zhejiang rose 111 percent year-on-year over the holiday period.
Trip listed Zhejiang's most visited attractions during the holiday. The top five were West Lake scenic area, Lingyin Feilaifeng scenic area, Lingyin Temple, Nanxun Ancient Town, and Putuo Mountain scenic area.
City-level data also pointed to broad-based growth. According to Fliggy, Hangzhou, Ningbo, and Wenzhou ranked as Zhejiang's three most popular travel destinations during the holiday, while Huzhou, Shaoxing, and Quzhou recorded the fastest growth in tourism orders.
Tongcheng Travel reported that New Year holiday demand for overseas trips exceeded levels seen in previous years. As a major aviation hub in the Yangtze River Delta region, Hangzhou benefited from the rebound, with the Hangzhou-Dubai route ranking among the platform's top 10 most popular long-haul outbound routes during the period.
