Key agenda set for Zhejiang 2026 two sessions
Zhejiang has announced the main agenda for its annual meetings of the province's top legislature and political advisory body.
The fourth session of the 14th Zhejiang Provincial People's Congress will be held in Hangzhou from Jan 14 to 17. The fourth session of the 13th Zhejiang Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference will take place from Jan 13 to 16, also in Hangzhou.
As 2026 marks the first year of China's 15th Five-Year Plan period (2026-30), the meetings will review and approve the outline of Zhejiang's 15th Five-Year Plan, a key document guiding the province's medium-term economic and social development.
Several media interaction sessions have been scheduled. The "director channel" will be held on the morning of Jan 14, after the first plenary meeting, with four directors of provincial government departments answering questions from the media on the government work report and other issues of public concern.
The "deputy channel" is scheduled for the afternoon of Jan 15, ahead of the second plenary meeting. Seven deputies to the Zhejiang Provincial People's Congress will be invited to discuss legislative work and their performance of duties.
In addition, a "committee member channel" media session will take place on the morning of Jan 13. Six members of the Zhejiang Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference will respond to media questions on topics of public interest and their advisory work.
