Wuzhen town in Jiaxing, East China's Zhejiang province, has released its 2025 economic achievements, marking a significant milestone in the final year of the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021–25).

The town's industrial output from enterprises above the designated size exceeded 14 billion yuan ($2 billion), a 12 percent year-on-year increase, with the digital economy sector contributing over 7 billion yuan. Fixed asset investments reached 3.59 billion yuan, with manufacturing investments surging by 64.9 percent year-on-year. Wuzhen also signed 30 new projects, with 93.3 percent already registered locally.

The town has witnessed the rise of key emerging industries, such as green energy, intelligent vehicles, embodied intelligence, and life sciences. These sectors are evolving rapidly, characterized by cross-sector integration, demand-driven growth, dynamism, and rapid expansion.

A key milestone was the launch of the Jiaxing Nanhu Airport on Dec 26, 2025, with its first shipment of electronic price tag samples from Wuzhen-based Dianzhi Technology (Zhejiang) to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, signaling the growing strength of Wuzhen's clean energy industries.

Hongxin Lithium Battery's introduction to the area has also brought cutting-edge technology, with the company expected to become a major force in the energy storage and electric vehicle sectors.
