Ningbo-Liege air cargo route resumes

The air‑cargo service between Ningbo and Liege, Belgium, has resumed operations, offering Chinese new energy vehicles (NEVs) a faster pathway into Europe.

A shipment of domestically produced NEVs completed customs clearance at Ningbo Lishe International Airport on Jan 21 before being loaded onto flight 3V827 to Liege, securing crucial time for upcoming test programs.

Liege is a major multimodal logistics hub with strong air, road, and rail connectivity. The shipped vehicles – pure electric and hybrid models – will be distributed onward to Germany and Sweden after arriving at the hub.

Ningbo first achieved an air freight export of NEVs in May 2025, though the service was later suspended due to route adjustments. With the Ningbo-Liege cargo route now restored on a Monday‑Wednesday‑Friday schedule, regular air transport for time‑sensitive automotive exports is expected to become routine.

According to Ningbo Airport Customs, the resumption marks a significant step toward stabilizing high‑value logistics channels.

Most vehicles transported by air are destined for overseas testing or exhibitions, where rapid delivery is essential. To meet Europe's stringent regulatory requirements, Ningbo Airport Customs has strengthened proactive services, offering one‑on‑one guidance on policy consultation, documentation, and declaration procedures to help companies avoid compliance risks and ensure smooth export clearance.
