As anticipation builds for the FIFA World Cup 2026 in the United States, Canada, and Mexico, the soccer fever has boosted the exports of pet apparel made in Yiwu, Zhejiang province.
Factories in Yiwu are stepping up production of pet football jerseys featuring logos and colors of popular World Cup teams. The jerseys, ranging from XXS to XL, are produced primarily for export rather than the domestic market and are destined for pet dogs and cats in Europe and North America.
From design and sampling to mass production, Chinese pet clothing manufacturers can complete the full process within a few weeks, ensuring the products reach overseas shelves ahead of the tournament.
Manufacturers say comfort and safety are central considerations. Most World Cup-themed pet jerseys use lightweight, breathable fabrics and avoid detachable decorations to reduce the risk of pets swallowing small parts.
