More than 40 percent of Zhejiang's county-level regions reported annual GDP exceeding 100 billion yuan ($14.40 billion) in 2025.

The term "100-billion-yuan counties" refers to counties, county-level cities, and districts whose annual GDP surpasses 100 billion yuan. In 2025, the number of such regions rose to 39, the largest expansion since the category was introduced.

The top tier consisted of Yuhang, Yinzhou, Beilun, Binjiang, and Cixi, each posting GDP above 300 billion yuan. A second group, with output exceeding 200 billion yuan, included Shangcheng, Yiwu, Xiaoshan, Xihu, Keqiao, Gongshu, and Zhuji.

The remaining regions all recorded GDP between 100 billion and 200 billion yuan. Within this group, Qiantang, Shangyu, Pinghu, and Longwan moved up the rankings year-on-year, pointing to relatively faster growth.

Six regions entered the 100-billion-yuan bracket for the first time in 2025: Ouhai, Linhai, Xiuzhou, Xiangshan, Changxing, and Jiashan. Several others are approaching the threshold, including Jiaojiang, Dongyang, and Wucheng, each with a GDP above 90 billion yuan.
