Hangzhou logs 19.74m tourist visits during holiday

Hangzhou in East China's Zhejiang province logged 19.74 million tourist visits during the nine-day Spring Festival holiday, up 29.39 percent year-on-year, according to the Hangzhou Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, TV and Tourism.

Total tourism revenue reached 12.71 billion yuan ($1.84 billion), an increase of 26.1 percent year-on-year. The city recorded about 10.53 million visits by non-local tourists, averaging 1.17 million per day, up 21 percent year-on-year. The average occupancy rate of hotels and guesthouses stood at 51.2 percent, 4.2 percentage points higher than the previous year.

New business formats and consumption scenarios emerged throughout the holiday, the longest Spring Festival break on record. Lantern fairs, intangible cultural heritage parades, and winter sports were among the highlights

In Xihu district, the Xixi lantern fair attracted more than 50,000 visits in a single day and was featured on national television.

In Lin'an district, sports-oriented tourism products, including ice and snow activities, hot spring retreats, and outdoor hiking, drew visitors seeking diversified holiday experiences.
