The 15th China (Wenzhou) International Garden Expo will open on April 15, featuring Shaoxing's exhibition garden themed around "Song Dynasty (960-1279) stone quarry landscapes".

Inspired by the mountain-and-water patterns of the ancient Yue State (present-day Shaoxing), the garden adopts an embracing layout and incorporates rock corridors, artificial mountains, streams, and lawns. Through techniques such as faux-stone crafting and traditional landscape painting, the design seeks to capture the artistic spirit of Song Dynasty paintings.

The garden features an inner and outer circular trail system spanning over 300 meters, including streamside paths, valley trails, hillside routes, and two-tiered corridors. Visitors can wander, cross, or climb along these routes to appreciate the mountain and water scenery from multiple perspectives. Open lawns dotted with trees invite visitors to relax, offering both scenic beauty and space for leisure activities.

The garden opens under the theme "fragrant orchids, poetry, and wine greet spring", incorporating elements of Yue culture such as rice wine, orchids, and intangible cultural heritage. Activities such as wine ceremonies, opera performances, and Hanfu parades will be held. Themed areas allow visitors to experience intangible heritage, cultural and creative works, local cuisine, and orchid exhibitions, presenting a comprehensive showcase of Shaoxing’s rich cultural character.
