The 15th China International Garden Expo kicked off on April 15 in Wenzhou, Zhejiang province, with the Quzhou Garden at Wenzhou Garden Expo Park opening to the public. The garden highlights Quzhou's cultural richness and natural landscape.

Quzhou in Zhejiang is known for its Confucian culture and Go culture, dubbed the "Home of Southern Confucianism" and the "Holy Land of Go". Go, also known as weiqi in Chinese, is a strategy board game for two players.

The Quzhou Garden comprises five sections: the main entrance, Yingli Pool, Rockery Waterfall, Nan Kong Study, and Go Culture Zone. The garden, with its clever plant arrangements, reflects the essence of Quzhou's Confucian culture and Go culture, showcasing cultural depth and scenic beauty.

Key attractions include Yingli Pool, Nan Kong Study, and a Confucius root sculpture, echoing the cultural essence of Southern Confucianism.

The Siyi Pavilion, with a feature wall and Go reliefs, helps visitors step into the ancient legend of "Wang Zhi meeting immortals and watching weiqi until his axe handle decayed on Lanke Mountain".

"The viewing platform in front of the Nan Kong Study offers a panoramic view incorporating the park's iconic Guogong Pavilion with the garden's picturesque scenery," said Chen Huiming, director of Quzhou's landscaping management service center.

On the opening day, cultural performances and interactive experiences, including Xi'an Gaoqiang opera, guqin music (a seven-stringed Chinese zither), and intangible cultural heritage displays, provided an immersive journey for attendees.
