Jimingshan community in Jiangdong subdistrict, Yiwu, sits near the Yiwu International Trade Market and is home to nearly 1,400 foreign residents from 74 countries and regions.
In recent years, the community has explored new ways to govern an international neighborhood, with a focus on grassroots work and the needs of its diverse population.
It has set up a mediation studio that brings in foreign volunteers to help resolve disputes involving foreign residents.
The community has also offered more than 500 free Chinese-language training sessions, serving more than 120,000 participants.
To improve services for international residents, Jimingshan will further develop its foreign-related service center and expand one-stop services, including exit-entry policy consultation and residence permit assistance, allowing Chinese and foreign residents to handle more affairs within the community.
It will also strengthen its Chinese and foreign residents' council by encouraging more foreign residents to take part in community discussions.
Beyond free Chinese-language courses, the community will hold more activities such as entrepreneurship-sharing sessions for expats in Yiwu, using cultural understanding to build closer ties.
