Zhejiang province has rolled out a series of culture and tourism activities for the upcoming May Day holiday.
The campaign features 10 themes, including spring outings, boating in Zhejiang, cultural heritage tours, and textbook-inspired travel, with a focus on hands-on cultural experiences and expanded tourism services.
Across the holiday period, the province will recommend 100 scenic spots, stage more than 1,000 consumption-focused events, and organize about 10,000 public performances, ranging from street shows and intangible cultural heritage displays to activities in newly developed cultural venues.
A total of 369 scenic areas will offer holiday discounts.
To meet demand, 56 museums and libraries across Zhejiang will extend opening hours into the evening.
The Zhejiang Provincial City Football League, known as the Wuyue Cup, is also underway, with themed travel routes linking matches to Wuyue culture, referring to the legacy of the Wuyue Kingdom (907-978), a regional state centered on present-day Zhejiang.
