Yanguan Ancient City in Jiaxing, East China's Zhejiang province, announced a long-term partnership with the Montreux Jazz Festival and the launch of a poster exhibition marking the festival's 60th anniversary on April 30, with the fifth Montreux (China) Jazz Festival scheduled for Oct 30 to Nov 1. The collaboration positions the historic site as a platform for international cultural exchange through music.

The Montreux Jazz Festival, recognized in UNESCO's Memory of the World Register, will work with Yanguan to promote cross-cultural dialogue and cooperation in the music industry.

Attendees included representatives from foreign consulates, festival organizers, and local authorities. Participants said the partnership would support ongoing collaboration in music exchange and international event development.

Silvia Inacio, Consul General of Portugal in Shanghai, said that music serves as a universal language and that such festivals can strengthen cultural understanding. She added that further cooperation would help bring international art to local audiences.

Yanguan Ancient City has been designated as one of Jiaxing's official foreign affairs visiting sites. Positioned as a "city of music", it integrates classical, traditional, and modern music forms to connect cultures. The site has developed several cultural facilities, including a large wooden concert hall relocated from Switzerland and an interactive music museum authorized by institutions in Vienna.
