A large verbena flower field in Putuo district, Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang province, is expected to reach its peak blooming season soon, bringing vast stretches of purple flowers to the city in the early summer months.

Located east of the Chengbei Long-Distance Passenger Transport Center, the flower field covers about 100,000 square meters and contains around 800,000 verbena plants. In recent days, clusters of light purple flowers have gradually started to bloom, creating waves of purple across the open landscape.

The flower field features willow-leaf verbena, known for its tall stems and long blooming season. As summer breezes move through the area, the flowers sway gently, releasing a light floral fragrance. The contrast between the purple blossoms and the blue sky has already made the site a popular destination for photography and outdoor leisure activities.

The flowering season is expected to last from June to September, giving residents and visitors several months to enjoy the scenery. The plants are growing steadily and are expected to reach full bloom in the coming weeks, when the floral landscape becomes denser and more vibrant.
