A new campus of the First People's Hospital of Daishan opened on May 17 in Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang province, expanding local healthcare capacity and improving access to medical services.

Located in Daishan county, the project began construction in March 2022 and passed completion inspection in January this year. With a total investment of approximately 923 million yuan (about $136 million), it is the largest standalone public welfare infrastructure project in the county to date.

The campus covers 53,000 square meters of land and 93,000 square meters of total floor area, with 610 hospital beds.

The new facility adopts an integrated architectural design that connects outpatient, medical technology, and inpatient buildings via indoor corridors. This layout enables patients to complete consultation, examination, and treatment within a single continuous indoor flow, improving efficiency and patient experience.

The hospital is also equipped with upgraded diagnostic and treatment equipment, including the uCT 960+ scanner — a 320-row, 640-slice ultra-premium CT system — and dual-energy X-ray bone densitometry systems.
