Shenxian Lake Ecological Park in Haining, a county-level city in Jiaxing, East China's Zhejiang province, has become a popular getaway for families and outdoor enthusiasts after years of ecological restoration and tourism development.

The park was transformed from an abandoned quarry into a waterfront leisure destination featuring water sports, camping, and outdoor recreation. Surrounded by forests and pristine waters, the site now attracts large numbers of visitors from nearby cities.

Since its water sports base began trial operations in February this year, the park has received more than 30,000 visits. Popular activities include jet skiing and paddleboarding, especially during spring break and the May Day holiday.

This increase in visitor numbers has not only been driven by individual travelers, but also by rising demand from local companies seeking venues for team-building activities and business events. The park has expanded cooperation with manufacturing and service enterprises in Haining to design customized outdoor programs.

In addition to water sports, the park has introduced lakeside cafes, camping areas, and youth summer camp programs. One of its best-known attractions is Shenka, a glass-walled cafe overlooking the lake that opened in January 2025, which serves coffee, desserts, and local specialty products.

Large open lawns along the lakeshore have also become a major attraction for weekend camping. Families and groups often bring tents and picnic equipment to enjoy outdoor leisure close to nature without traveling far from the city.
