Ningbo-Serbia trade hits 650 million yuan in first four months
According to Ningbo Customs, total trade between Ningbo and Serbia reached 650 million yuan ($95.77 million) in the first four months of 2026.
Serbia's high-quality beech wood has become increasingly popular in China. A shipment of 24 metric tons of Serbian beech boards recently cleared by Ningbo Mitu Customs Brokerage Co was prepared for domestic furniture production. The company said it handled customs declarations for four batches of Serbian wood panels in April alone.
Meanwhile, more Ningbo-made products are entering the Serbian market. At Ningbo Taiyong Auto Parts, fully automated production lines are operating at full speed to produce high-performance materials and automotive sealing systems for export. From January to April, the company's exports to Serbia reached 4.34 million yuan, marking a sevenfold increase year-on-year.
Company representative Shen Yaqin attributed the growth to continuous technological innovation, including AI-powered manufacturing, environmentally friendly materials, and digitalized production systems.
The China-Serbia Free Trade Agreement has also boosted business confidence. Ningbo Hengshuai recently exported nozzle assembly products that qualified for zero tariffs under the agreement, helping improve price competitiveness and expand orders from Serbia.
To support smoother trade flows, Ningbo Customs has launched dedicated consultation and customs clearance channels for Serbian businesses, further strengthening bilateral industrial and supply chain cooperation.
