Ningbo companies bring city culture to Istanbul auto show
At the 2026 Automechanika Istanbul, Ningbo companies showcased not only high-performance auto parts, but also the unique charm of their hometown.
Alongside precision automotive components, exhibitors displayed Ningbo-themed cultural souvenirs such as metal bookmarks featuring city landmarks and puzzles of Ningbo's landscapes. The creative displays attracted many overseas visitors and turned the exhibition booths into windows for learning about the Chinese port city.
Company representatives also became cultural ambassadors during the event, teaching foreign buyers simple Ningbo dialect phrases like "Ningbo, nong hao!" meaning "Hello, Ningbo!"
"One of the most surprising things here is learning a local Chinese dialect at an auto show," said a Turkish buyer after the interaction. "Now I'm really curious about Ningbo and its culture."
The exhibition brought together around 1,500 exhibitors from across the global automotive industry chain, spanning passenger vehicles, commercial vehicles and motorcycles.
