Taizhou in East China's Zhejiang province will host its Dragon Boat Festival Pancake Banquet in Jiaojiang district on June 19, featuring intangible cultural heritage dishes, performances, and folk cultural experiences.

The event is designed as an immersive experience where visitors can eat, explore, and participate in traditional activities.

The signature dish, shibingtong (a thin crepe wrap with assorted fillings), is a well-known seasonal food in Taizhou associated with Dragon Boat Festival. Local accounts trace its origin to the Ming Dynasty (1368–1644), when it was prepared as portable food for soldiers during coastal defense campaigns led by General Qi Jiguang.

The event will feature themed performances, including historical reenactments with actors dressed as Ming Dynasty soldiers, interactive poetry games themed on Dragon Boat Festival, and folk craft workshops such as sachet making, herbal crafts, and traditional decorations.

Live music performances, themed photo zones, and a food market featuring local specialties, including rice-based snacks and ginger-flavored desserts, along with coffee and other modern offerings, will also be set up to enhance the visitor experience.
