A delegation of Italian politicians visited Jiaxing in East China's Zhejiang province on July 20 to explore the city's revolutionary heritage and discuss opportunities for China-Italy cooperation.
The delegation, led by Vinicio Peluffo, president of the "Friends of China" Parliamentary Association, visited the Red Boat at the Nanhu Lake Scenic Area and the Nanhu Revolutionary Memorial Hall, where they learned about the history of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and China's development over the past century.
In the afternoon, the delegation attended a dialogue themed "From the CPC's Century-long Journey to Opportunities for Shared Development", which brought together Chinese and Italian representatives to discuss topics including economic cooperation, technological innovation, and cultural exchanges.
Italian participants highlighted the importance of dialogue and multilateral cooperation, while Jiaxing representatives introduced the city's manufacturing base and trade ties with Italy. Zhang Yueqin, director of the Jiaxing municipal bureau of economy and information technology, said more than 2,000 Jiaxing enterprises have business links with Italy, and 117 Italian companies have invested in the city.
Following the dialogue, the delegation visited Tongkun Holding Group and toured the Xizha Scenic Area of Wuzhen town.
