The book Nankong: Art Setting Collection — based on the musical Nankong, which centers on Southern Confucianism — made its debut on July 24 at the 34th National Book Expo held in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province.

Zhejiang's Quzhou, known as the "Home of Southern Confucianism", has deep roots in Confucian culture, with descendants of Confucius settling in Quzhou over 800 years ago, establishing the city as a center of Confucian thought.

Jointly organized by the Publicity Department of the CPC Quzhou Municipal Committee, Zhejiang Performing Arts Group, and Zhejiang People's Fine Arts Publishing House, the launch event brought together members of the creative team and representatives from the publishing sector.

The collection records the artistry behind the musical, including character styling, stage design, and visual effects, turning the stage performance into a lasting publication.

The musical, which took three years to develop, has been performed overseas and received positive feedback.

The book serves as a link connecting the musical, readers, and Quzhou, while preserving and presenting the cultural traditions associated with Southern Confucianism.

The 34th National Book Expo is a major book industry event in China, featuring quality publications from across the country and providing a platform for cultural exchange and new book promotion.
