Quzhou has secured 12 awards at the second Zhejiang Provincial Intellectual Property Awards, including its first-ever first prizes.

The awards cover patents, trademarks, copyrights, geographical indications, and data intellectual property.

Among the top honors, the Changshan Huyou tangelo won first prize in the geographical indication category. By promoting the high-quality development of the Huyou tangelo industry, Changshan county has helped turn the local fruit into an industry with a total industry chain value of more than 7.4 billion yuan ($1.09 billion) and a brand value exceeding 10 billion yuan.

The original animated series Fog Hill of Five Elements won first prize in the copyright category, highlighting Quzhou's cultural innovation. The series featuring Chinese martial arts, which combines traditional Chinese philosophy with Chinese-style fantasy elements, has gained more than 460 million views.

Quzhou also saw achievements in industrial innovation, with projects involving Carbon One New Energy, Jiangshan Oupai Door Industry Co, Huayou New Energy Technology (Quzhou) Co, DAS Solar Co, Xianhe, and Mobi Garden recognized for patents and trademarks.

In 2024, Quzhou was selected as a pilot city for national intellectual property development. In 2025, the city recorded 9.47 high-value invention patents per 10,000 people, up 26.6 percent year-on-year, the fastest growth rate in Zhejiang.

Quzhou is now expanding digital platforms, AI-based intellectual property services, and geographical indication programs to further support innovation-driven development.
