The Zhejiang Wuju Opera Research Institute (Zhejiang Wuju Opera Troupe) from Jinhua, Zhejiang province, embarked on a performance tour in Singapore on Aug 2.

Invited by Singapore's Nam Hwa Opera, the troupe will present the "Wuju Opera in Lion City" series from Aug 5 to 8 at the Theater at Mediacorp. The lineup includes Three Battles with the White-boned Demon, The Legend of the White Snake, Mu Guiying, and a special showcase of selected opera scenes, offering the audience a rich cultural experience.

The troupe is bringing a strong team of over 80 performers, featuring winners of the Plum Blossom Award (the highest honor in Chinese theater performing arts) and White Magnolia Award (a major Chinese theatrical honor).

Just before this international tour, the troupe wrapped up a national tour of Three Battles with the White-boned Demon. Throughout the tour, performers seized every opportunity to refine their program, aiming to deliver their best performance in Singapore.

For many young actors, this trip is especially significant. For several born after 2000, it marks their first international tour with the troupe.
