Tianyi Pavilion in Ningbo, Zhejiang province, has introduced AI-powered glasses that allow visitors to explore the historic site with real-time, hands-free guidance, offering a new way to experience cultural heritage.

The pilot program uses Rokid AI glasses to provide automatic commentary based on visitors' locations and surroundings. Unlike traditional audio guides that require scanning QR codes or selecting content manually, the glasses recognize different areas of the museum and deliver relevant information as visitors move through the site.

Built around one of Asia's oldest existing private libraries, Tianyi Pavilion preserves nearly 500 years of history and traditional Chinese book culture. The AI system uses a dedicated knowledge database to tell stories about founder Fan Qin, the library's collection, and its architectural features.

The glasses also provide navigation support, multilingual explanations, and immersive audio through optical display and bone-conduction technology, helping both Chinese and overseas visitors better understand the site.

By combining AI, wearable technology, and cultural content, the project aims to create a more interactive museum experience. Future updates will add features such as interactive conversations and immersive storytelling, providing a new model for smart tourism at cultural heritage sites.
