Zhejiang economy shows resilient growth in first half

Zhejiang's economy maintained resilient growth in the first half of 2026, with sales revenue from industrial enterprises rising 9.7 percent year-on-year and sales revenue in high-tech industries up 20 percent, according to data from the Zhejiang Provincial Tax Service.
Manufacturing sales revenue rose 10.1 percent year-on-year. Sales revenue from the province's integrated circuit industry cluster and new energy vehicle and auto parts industry cluster increased 36.6 percent and 23.8 percent, respectively, making them important drivers of industrial growth.
Sales revenue from the artificial intelligence industry cluster rose 27.9 percent. Sales revenue from service and consumer robot manufacturing and industrial robot manufacturing rose 151 percent and 73.6 percent, respectively, reflecting rapid growth in intelligent equipment manufacturing.
The consumer market also continued to recover. Retail sales revenue from photographic equipment and luggage, both associated with travel, rose 27.9 percent and 9.5 percent, respectively.
Sporting events including the Zhejiang City Football League, also known as the Wuyue Cup, and the Zhejiang City Basketball League, known as ZheBA, also helped drive sports-related consumption. Sales revenue from sports event organization, sports consulting services, and the retail of sporting goods and equipment rose 35.7 percent, 23.6 percent, and 22 percent, respectively.
