Two Ningbo bonded zones rank among China's top 10
Two bonded zones in Ningbo, Zhejiang province, have ranked among China's top 10 in a national performance evaluation by the General Administration of Customs, their best results to date.
The Ningbo Beilun Port Comprehensive Bonded Zone ranked sixth and the Ningbo Bonded Zone ninth among 161 zones assessed in the General Administration of Customs' 2025 evaluation. This marked the first time two comprehensive bonded zones in Zhejiang province simultaneously entered the national top 10.
Since China's first resource allocation hub for bulk commodities was established in Zhejiang, the two zones have attracted a number of supply chain companies engaged in the distribution of bulk commodities.
In 2025, the two zones recorded 211.76 billion yuan ($31.50 billion) in imports and exports, up 4 percent from the previous year and accounting for 14.5 percent of Ningbo's total foreign trade. Their bulk commodity trade, measured by sales of goods by enterprises above the designated size, reached 517.76 billion yuan, up 9.8 percent.
In the first half of this year, nearly 70 percent of Zhejiang's nickel, cobalt, and other related raw materials were distributed through the Ningbo Bonded Zone.
Sales of bundled cross-border e-commerce goods in the two zones reached 2.78 billion yuan in 2025, up 39.8 percent from the previous year.
In the first half of this year, their cross-border e-commerce bonded retail imports exceeded 27.62 billion yuan, up 7.4 percent year-on-year and remaining among the highest in China.
