Shaoxing's railway network handled 2.79 million passenger trips during this year's 62-day summer travel rush, which concluded on Aug 31, with Shaoxing North Railway Station serving 1.23 million passengers, averaging around 20,000 daily.

Short-distance trips largely connected Shaoxing with Shanghai, Jiangsu, and other destinations across the Yangtze River Delta, while popular long-distance destinations included Hubei, Fujian, Beijing, and Tianjin.

The station recorded its busiest day on Aug 24, when 30,300 passengers departed, setting a new record for daily departures during the summer travel season since the station opened.

In late August, returning students, holidaymakers, and business travelers converged at the station. Among them was freshman Wang Cenyu, who was heading to Xi'an to begin university. Surrounded by fellow students carrying luggage, she said their excitement about embarking on a new journey filled her with anticipation for college life.
