A small cultural hub is bringing the charm of Ningbo, a port city in East China's Zhejiang province, to the lobby of JD Polman Hotel in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

The hub features the city publication This Is Ningbo, Ningbo-themed stamps, traditional handicrafts, cultural souvenirs, and other creative products. Though occupying only a few square meters, the display offers international guests a glimpse into Ningbo's rich history, Maritime Silk Road heritage, and distinctive Jiangnan culture.

The concept is simple: instead of building a conventional exhibition hall, the project uses existing public spaces and presents Ningbo culture in a light, immersive format. A book, a stamp, or a handicraft can each become a window into the city.

For local businesspeople and travelers, the space provides an unexpected opportunity to discover Ningbo without leaving Phnom Penh. It also highlights the growing economic and cultural connections between Ningbo and Cambodia.

The hub has previously been introduced at overseas factories operated by Ningbo companies in Cambodia, bringing the city's culture closer to employees abroad. Its expansion into hotels marks a new step, reaching a more diverse and mobile international audience.

From factories and industrial parks to hotels and other public spaces, Ningbo's cultural hub is creating new, intimate ways to share the city's stories with the world.
