Overnight inbound tourist visits to Zhejiang up more than 30%

Zhejiang province recorded 3.15 million overnight visits by inbound tourists from January to August, up 32.5 percent year-on-year, while international tourism revenue rose 35.9 percent to $3.33 billion.
The province has introduced a series of measures to make travel easier for international visitors, covering entry procedures, telecommunications, payments, accommodation, tourism services, shopping, and emergency assistance.
More than 99 percent of electronic arrival cards for foreign nationals are now submitted online in Zhejiang.
The province has also introduced convenient eSIM services, supported by 15,700 service outlets, with more than 900,000 mobile subscriptions processed to date.
In payments, 58,000 key merchants across Zhejiang can accept overseas bank cards, the highest number in the country. The number of overseas individuals using domestic mobile payment services in the province reached 4.82 million, up 73 percent year-on-year.
A one-touch check-in service for international guests now covers 11,000 hotels across the province and has been used more than 12 million times since 2025.
Zhejiang Travel 2.0, an upgraded version of China's first provincial-level smart tourism platform for inbound travelers, is now online, with more than 1.46 million registered users.
The province now has 1,009 departure tax refund stores, including 482 offering refund-upon-purchase services. Sales eligible for departure tax refunds rose 42.8 percent year-on-year.
An integrated response system based on Zhejiang Travel and the 12367 immigration service hotline provides round-the-clock assistance for inbound travelers. It has provided services on 96,000 occasions so far this year.
