Zhang Qingying, a gymnast from Jiaojiang district, Taizhou, Zhejiang province, won a team gold medal with China's women's gymnastics team at the 20th Asian Games Aichi-Nagoya 2026 on Sept 23. The victory helped China claim its 14th consecutive Asian Games title in the women's team event.

The Chinese team, featuring Zhang, Du Siyu, Ke Qinqin, Zhang Yihan, and Qiu Qiyuan, overcame an unfavorable start and fought back to win the final with a total score of 166.462 points.

Making her Asian Games debut, Zhang delivered a strong balance beam performance in the team final, her specialty, scoring 15.066 points and helping China consolidate its lead. She will next compete in the uneven bars, balance beam, and floor exercise individual finals.

Born in 2007, Zhang started gymnastics training at a youth sports school in Jiaojiang at age five. She joined the Zhejiang provincial team in 2015 and entered the national team in late 2022. She specializes in the balance beam and competes in the women's individual all-around.
