Zhejiang has selected around 25 U13 male soccer players for an overseas training program in Spain after a five-day selection camp concluded in Shaoxing's Keqiao district on Sept 29.

The players were chosen from more than 70 candidates and are scheduled to travel to Spain at the end of the year for more than 20 days of training, matches, and daily life in a local soccer environment.

Claudiu-Stefan Stoica, head coach of Zhejiang's U13 team, said the selection focused not only on effort but also on talent and game intelligence, which would help players make the most of the overseas experience.

Stoica, a Romanian coach with a UEFA Pro Licence and extensive youth coaching experience in Spain, said playing against Spanish club academy teams would help the young players better understand their weaknesses and identify areas for improvement.

Zhejiang's provincial soccer management center said overseas youth training camps will become a regular part of its development program, giving promising young players more opportunities to train and compete abroad while bringing international coaching and competition methods into the province's youth system.
