Taizhou in Zhejiang province recorded 3.83 million tourist visits during the National Day holiday, up 3.7 percent year-on-year.
Overnight tourist visits reached 2.08 million, up 3.3 percent year-on-year. Visitors from outside Taizhou accounted for 93.1 percent of the total.
Holiday offerings included sports events, music performances in Linhai, a county-level city in Taizhou, and immersive performances in Luqiao district.
Traditional cultural activities were another highlight. The Ancient City of Taizhou Cultural Scenic Area in Linhai hosted folk parades, while Xianju county featured fish-lantern displays and other traditional performances.
Food-related events also helped boost spending. The Xinhaitiandi commercial area in Jiaojiang district received more than 27,000 visits, with related activities helping drive a month-on-month increase of over 50 percent in consumption.
Technology brought a new dimension to the holiday lineup. A drone light show lit up Taizhou Bay New Area, while Shenxianju Scenic Spot showcased hiking exoskeletons, robotic patrol dogs, and drone deliveries.
