Enterprises above the designated size in Zhejiang's core artificial intelligence industry generated 582.87 billion yuan ($87.49 billion) in revenue in the first eight months of the year, up 26.9 percent year-on-year.

The statistical thresholds vary by sector. Industrial enterprises must have annual revenue from their main business of at least 20 million yuan, while software and information technology service enterprises must have annual operating revenue of at least 20 million yuan.

The number of core AI enterprises rose to 2,112, with an industry chain spanning chips, large AI models, AI agents, and application services.

Demand for computing power and data services continued to grow. Revenue at internet data service providers rose 47 percent year-on-year during the period, while revenue at information processing and storage support service providers increased 20.4 percent.

More than 100 generative AI services in Zhejiang have completed regulatory filing procedures, placing the province among the national leaders by number of filings.
