Xi'an in Shaanxi province and Shaoxing in Zhejiang province will seek cooperation in economy, culture, and tourism during the 2020 Xi’an-Shaoxing Week which will begin on Nov 15.

Xi'an was the ancient capital of China and a cradle of civilization together with Athens, Cairo, and Rome. It was the starting point of the ancient Silk Road. As a famous historical cultural city, Xi'an is home to the world's richest cultural heritages and the most complete preservation of the ancient city and moat system.

Shaoxing also boasts abundant cultural heritages from ancient times. In 490 BC, Fan Li, a senior official of the Yue Kingdom, built a capital city which was later known as Shaoxing. Ever since, the ancient city has weathered the storms of 2,500 years and remained intact in the same location.

From Nov 15 to 17, the two cities will co-host six forums, innovation competitions, and match-making activities to team up in the new era.
