White goose Lan Xiaobai, the mascot for Shaoxing's culture and tourism, can now be seen doing sports.

The mascot was created by Shaoxing-based Zhejiang Telizhou Animation Film & Television Co Ltd to welcome the upcoming Asian Games, which will take place in September.

Designers said the image was inspired by the white goose in the former residence of legendary Shaoxing calligrapher Wang Xizhi (303-361).

The company said they have designed over 20 new Asian Games-related looks for Lan Xiaobai and that many creative products bearing these images will soon hit the market.

The company picked Lan Xiaobai to become Shaoxing's Asian Games symbol because it represents Shaoxing's history and culture, according to Ding Liqing, chairman of the company.

Ding said that the company is planning to promote the Asian Games-themed Lan Xiaobai at Shaoxing's five Asian Games venues, schools, parks, and malls to rally support for the Games.
