Shaoxing in East China's Zhejiang province announced that in September, it will host close to 40 sporting events, including the Asian Games.

These sporting events encompass a wide range of disciplines, including basketball, swimming, athletics, table tennis, lawn bowling, and soccer.

"Pro sporting events not only meet the demands of citizens for spectator sports but also serve as an early test of preparations for the Asian Games," said a spokesperson from the Shaoxing municipal sports bureau.

Organizing a professional sporting event serves as a comprehensive assessment of venue management, event scheduling, and overall logistical support, he added.

Among the most enthusiastic participants in sports are the youth, who are eagerly anticipating the arrival of the Asian Games.

Upcoming events include the 2023 Shangyu District Junior High School Soccer Tournament, to be held in mid-September at the Shangyu Civic Center Soccer Field, and the Shengzhou City Primary and Secondary School Soccer League, scheduled for late September at the Aide Junior High School in Shengzhou.

The municipal sports bureau also outlined plans to make the most of community spaces by creating multipurpose and adaptable sports facilities, making it convenient and safe for residents to engage in physical activities in their local neighborhoods.
