A rendezvous with intangible cultural heritage in Shaoxing

The 9th intangible cultural heritage fair was held at Yingentiandi Square in Shaoxing, Zhejiang province from Nov 17 to 19.

At the fair, lasting for three days and two nights, over 100 representative projects in 10 categories of intangible cultural heritage in Shaoxing were chosen to be displayed.

A variety of activities were carried out, including an opening ceremony, sales exhibitions, dramatic performances and hands-on learning activities.

At the fair, intangible cultural heritage foods like soup dumplings made in Shengzhou (a county-level city in Shaoxing) were also featured.

Nearly 50 intangible cultural heritage projects involving traditional art and skills were exhibited and sold.

There were also a graphic exhibition of protection achievements of intangible cultural heritage in Shaoxing and a tea culture exhibition area.

In addition, the 12th "Shaoxing Shiye" story-telling competition and a special show of representative inheritors of Shaoxing local drama were held.

Furthermore, eight intangible cultural heritage folklore teams gave performances on the street at various times.

As an annual Shaoxing intangible cultural heritage protection event, the fair serves as a comprehensive presentation of protection achievements in recent years.
