The rural cultural hall in Meizhu village, Shaoxing held its much-anticipated "Village Spring Festival Gala" on Jan 24.

The performers presented a heartwarming evening filled with rural and festive flavors, captivating the audience with their spirited performances, genuine emotions, and exceptional skills, earning thunderous applause from the crowd.

Below the stage, neighbors and villagers gathered, squeezing in every available space, standing on tiptoes, and craning their necks for a better view.

"The lighting effects were fantastic, and the sound system was top-notch. It was truly a feast for the eyes and ears," said villager Ding Manli, unable to contain her excitement as she captured the moments on her phone to share with friends and relatives afar.

This year's "Village Spring Festival Gala" was also live-streamed on online platforms, attracting nearly 850,000 viewers from all walks of life.

So far, Shaoxing has successfully built 1,645 rural cultural halls throughout the city, ensuring 100 percent coverage of cultural facilities in villages with populations exceeding 500 residents.
