Yuecheng district in Shaoxing, Zhejiang province, announced plans to create three unique waterway tourism routes along the ancient East Zhejiang Canal, expected to open by year-end, on Aug 1.

The district's transportation bureau said that the boats chosen for these routes will match the local character, featuring wooden rowing boats and special sightseeing vessels.

Looking ahead, the bureau said Yuecheng will leverage its rich water tourism resources to plan and develop additional waterway tour routes.
