An art exhibition featuring paintings of the former residences of Shaoxing's most celebrated historical figures opened on Oct 10 at the Shaoxing Intangible Cultural Heritage Museum.

The exhibition features 40 pieces created by teachers, alumni, professional painters, and art educators. Focusing on prominent figures such as Lu Xun, Cai Yuanpei, Qiu Jin, Xu Wei, and Wang Xizhi, the artworks combine traditional ink painting, oil painting, and modern techniques to capture the architecture, atmosphere, and historical resonance of the residences.

According to Zhu Dan, an art teacher at Shaoxing Art School and the project's coordinator, the creation process took nearly five months, with artists visiting nine historical sites.

Zhu said the works not only offer visual beauty but also serve as cultural messengers, showcasing the depth of Shaoxing's humanistic heritage.

The exhibition is more than an artistic interpretation of Shaoxing's landmarks — it represents a dialogue between history and modernity, embodying the city's cultural spirit and carrying it into the future.
