The millennia-old city of Shaoxing is undergoing a significant urban transformation. Over the past year, Shaoxing's overall economic strength has risen to 28th nationwide, hosting 80 companies listed on the A-share market. Its gross domestic product is expected to surpass 900 billion yuan ($127.40 billion) this year, sustaining strong growth momentum.

Centered on the integration of the Yangtze River Delta and strengthening the strategic connection between Hangzhou and Ningbo, Shaoxing is accelerating its strategic positioning in regional competition.

Industrial restructuring underpins the city's advancement. In Yuecheng district, United Nova Technology's integrated superfactory has driven the rapid gathering of chip manufacturing, packaging and testing, and design enterprises, with related industrial platforms generating over 85 billion yuan, boosting advanced manufacturing capacity for analog chips and power devices.

In Keqiao district, Zhejiang China Textile City's annual transaction volume exceeded 400 billion yuan, while collaborating with neighboring cities to build a modern textile and apparel industry chain spanning raw materials, weaving, dyeing, and garment production.

Urban functions are being upgraded in parallel. Shaoxing Institute of Technology was inaugurated with Shaoxing University entering its final construction phase, bringing the city's total number of universities to 13.

High-quality medical resources are expanding, with eight top-tier hospitals in operation. In government services, Shaoxing enables more than 1,000 administrative procedures to be processed across Hangzhou and Ningbo, widening public service interoperability.

Transport networks are improving, creating a more efficient regional commuting circle. More than 70 trains operate daily between Shaoxing North railway station and Hangzhou, while Metro Line 1 has seen significantly increased intercity ridership. The integration effect is visible in industry, employment, and daily life.

From January to October, Shaoxing received nearly 80 million visits, including over 40 million overnight stays. With long-standing comfort and livability, cultural depth, and economic vitality, the city continues to attract talent and investment. Shaoxing is advancing as a competitive modern city, propelled by industrial upgrades, enhanced urban functions, and cultural vitalization.
