Shaoxing launches first metro feeder minibus routes
Shaoxing has launched its first batch of metro connection minibus routes, marking a new stage in refined integration between the city's rail and bus networks.
Nine routes have begun service, designed around short distances, high frequency, and fast connections, with each route averaging under 5 kilometers. The routes link large residential communities, major hospitals, schools, commercial areas, and industrial parks.
In recent years, Shaoxing has adjusted its bus fleet structure through data analysis and dynamic scheduling, increasing the share of small and medium-sized buses to enhance operational flexibility and resource efficiency.
This year, the city purchased 130 new buses, all pure electric models measuring 8 meters or less. For the first time, 5.3-meter microbuses have also been introduced and will be gradually deployed on metro feeder and regular routes to improve service quality.
The urban bus fleet in Shaoxing now totals 2,073 vehicles, with green and clean-energy buses accounting for 97.3 percent of the total, including 1,651 pure electric buses, representing 79.64 percent.
Shaoxing plans to further optimize its vehicle mix and accelerate the transition to cleaner energy, building a more efficient, low-carbon, and intelligent public transport system.
