Shaoxing yellow rice wine has recently entered its annual peak "winter brewing" period. To support the industry's stable development, Shaoxing has launched a specialized support initiative, optimizing supervision and services and ensuring product quality.

Key personnel from Shaoxing Customs visited major yellow rice wine exporters including Gu Yue Long Shan and Kuai Ji Shan to conduct comprehensive oversight and provide guidance. While respecting traditional techniques, they helped companies refine production standards and strengthen quality control across the entire supply chain.

To address the extended, multi‑step nature of winter brewing, Shaoxing Customs adopted a combined model of routine supervision with regular inspections, implementing closed‑loop monitoring from raw materials to finished products. For customs clearance, a special "green channel" for testing has been established for time‑honored yellow rice wine brands, significantly expediting the process.

Throughout this year, customs authorities have continued to advance the "time‑honored brands expanding into broader markets" campaign. Leveraging tariff benefits under free trade agreements like RCEP, they have helped companies access international markets. "We have obtained certificates of origin for about 20 million yuan ($2.86 million) worth of exported yellow rice wine. Lower tariffs have not only solidified existing partnerships but also created favorable conditions for our brand's global expansion," said Dong Hai, head of the foreign trade department at Zhejiang Gu Yue Long Shan Shaoxing Wine Co.

From January to November, Shaoxing yellow rice wine exports reached about 95 million yuan, indicating overall stable and positive growth. Moving forward, Shaoxing Customs will continue to support the yellow rice wine sector in strengthening its foundation and enhancing core competitiveness, helping this traditional cultural treasure reach global markets more effectively.
